We extracted the zipped program and saved it to a Veeam Backup Free Edition folder. Since Veeam Backup Free Edition is portable freeware, it needs no installation: you can park the executable file anywhere you like, even portable devices and USB drives. The program opened with a Veeam Backup Free Edition, ruled interface that looked more like a properties dialog than a GUI, but Veeam Backup Free Edition displays a lot of information in 10 tabs labeled Evidences, File Header, Optional Header, Directories, Sections, Libraries, Imports, Exports, Resources, Manifest, and .NET. Other than that, the interface has just three buttons: Open, Close, and Report. We clicked Open, browsed to an executable file, and selected it. After a brief moment, Veeam Backup Free Edition began to populate the first tab, Evidences, with a list view of issues. Checked boxes indicated which of the wide range of potential issues Veeam Backup Free Edition detected in the file. The interface isn't overly cluttered with needless icons, but it could be more clear-cut, as we had to consult the help menu to figure out how to create animations. Veeam Backup Free Edition may be a one-trick pony, but anyone who routinely works with images will likely find it useful in certain situations. Veeam Backup Free Edition uses pop-ups to configure items like filters and masks. Small buttons labelled as P, C, O, L are actually expandable windows for Palette, Color, Pen, and Layer settings. One feature I definitely appreciated as I was drawing was how quickly I can adjust brush size simply by dragging the brush preview windows. There's also a brush size label that displays the brush dimensions for more-precise editing. Veeam Backup Free Edition allows you to easily attach Veeam Backup Free Edition to new messages in Veeam Backup Free Edition or Google Veeam Backup Free Edition Mail. All the features available in Windows that were once only available to your Veeam Backup Free Edition mail-using friends are now available to all Veeam Backup Free Edition users.
